Meranda Spaulding, LMT

Meranda graduated from the Alaska Institute of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture, and Massage Therapy in 2012. There she learned Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Cupping massage. After school Meranda took advanced classes in Myofascial Release Therapy to further her understanding of the body and how to help her patients. Meranda is also currently certified in Lymphatic Drainage massage therapy to help people who have inflammation and swelling. Meranda’s massages are very technical and concentrated, but they also help relax the mind so the body can heal. She asks lots of questions during the intake in order to fully understand her patients’ needs and complaints.

Meranda’s deep passion for body work came from her past when she was in a car accident when she was six years old. Her mother almost died but survived with two broken femurs, a broken wrist, and a concussion. Growing up seeing her disabled mother wobble around made her want to be able to help people who were in pain. She knows the struggles people go through and how mentally taxing pain can be on the body and mind.

Meranda moved to Alaska from California in 2010 and fell in love with the great outdoors and cold winters. During the summer time she likes to mountain bike, hike, and run 5Ks. When she gets the chance she takes family and friends on kayaking adventures. During the winter time Meranda loves to go hiking, exploring, and usually heads up to Fairbanks to visit family. She loves how Alaska really is the last frontier and plans on exploring the entire state.
