Beverly Sorenson, L.Ac.

Beverly is a licensed acupuncturist who works in tandem with her patients to achieve optimal health.  She evaluates how lifestyle, diet, and emotional health may have contributed towards the present state.  Beverly develops a treatment protocol which includes selecting specific acupuncture points which stimulate physical changes to promote healing and health.  Treatments may also include abdominal massage, dietary therapies, or herbal remedies.  Beverly has a special interest in treating mental/emotional, digestive, reproductive, and pelvic bowl disorders.   She also enjoys helping people look their best and believes aging should be a graceful process.  Using acupuncture to rejuvenate the face, wrinkles and stress lines are reduced to enhance inherent beauty.  In Traditional Chinese Medicine it is believed that when the body is nourished, the skin will flourish.

Beverly graduated in 2001 from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.  Through the Arvigo Institute, she is a teacher of Self Care Training - Level One and practitioner of The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®.   She is also certified through Ling Gui International Healing Qigong School to teach Jade Body and One Thousand Hands Buddha forms of Qigong.

Having lived in Alaska since 1972, Beverly grew up exploring nature during many family outings which sparked her interest in botanical medicine.  She continues to learn about the bounty of medicinal plants that Alaska has to offer and how they may be used in the lotions and salves she produces.  Her latest adventure is the production of hydrosols or floral water from the medicinal plants she wild harvests.
